What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry Level Service Technician position at Forshaw?
Forshaw of St. Louis is an installing distributor of hearth, patio, and barbeque products. We are looking for qualified candidates to join our delivery and service team! On our team you will help deliver, service, and install fireplace and patio products in customers' homes.
No experience is required. We are willing to train the right person. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, being active, and learning a skilled trade. There is plenty of opportunity to learn new products, develop technical skills, and grow into installation, service, and other positions within the company.
To get started you must:
- Have or obtain a Driver's License with Class 'E' certification
- Be able to pass a MO DOT exam including drug test
- Be able to communicate effectively with homeowners/customers
- Be dependable, willing to learn, and comfortable working as part of a team

In the field, each day will be slightly different than the last. If you don't want to sit behind a desk all day, this position offers the opportunity to work at different jobsites, learn different products, solve problems, and work with an experienced team.
Installers and service technicians should be comfortable in the following situations, should the need arise:
- In residences, potentially attics, basements, and crawlspaces
- With customers and homeowners. Interacting and communicating positively with all customers is paramount
- Outdoors and in varying weather conditions
This is a physical job. The requirements include:
- Lifting heavy product and equipment
- Traversing different terrain and houses in all weather environments
- Ability to operate and lift equipment, such as a ladder, that can weigh up to 75 pounds
- Ability to pivot work hours to a six-day workweek during peak seasons
