The Specialty Benefits Program Associate is responsible for assisting with FSL’s book of Vision, Dental and Hearing products/clients with the Director for this strategic business unit. This individual will be the acting liaison between the clients and FSL.

Position Summary
The Specialty Benefits Program Associate is responsible for assisting with FSL’s book of Vision, Dental and Hearing products/clients with the Director for this strategic business unit. This individual will be the acting liaison between the clients and FSL.
Expectations
- Work closely with Product Development to define product specifications and revisions as required by client relationship
- Work closely with Reinsurance, Contracts, Legal to define terms and assist with negotiations
- Work closely with Account Manager and communicate deal terms for implementation of new or revised programs/products.
- Provides direction to internal departments regarding requirements to support the timely implementation of new products and accounts.
- Directing the workflow process with external individuals for underwriting, claims, policy issuance, premium and client administration.
- Review of documents related to administrative agreements to help ensure accuracy and timeliness of delivery.
- Review policy and certificate equipment for accuracy, review advertising materials and proposals.
- Directing workflow within FSL internal departments/individuals, including but not limited to accounting, claims, contracts, compliance and legal and product control in order to manage the needs of the client.
- Customer Orientation – develop strong relationships with internal and external customers with focus on understanding and managing customer needs.
- Strong management skills
- Strong written communication skills; convey complex thoughts both written and oral in a clear concise manner
- Initiate timely and appropriate communication with others; listen well and ask pointed questions to gain information and/or clarity to ensure high-quality work
- Create, build and maintain relationships that enhance both individual performance and the performance of the unit; resolve conflicts, invite others to share their perspectives; respect differing points of views; strong negotiation skills
- Self-starter; able to adapt to rapidly changing conditions; anticipate problems and seek out alternatives before they become obstacles; flexibility and ability to cope with changing conditions.
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 years’ experience in supplemental health industry (preferably with an Insurance Carrier or TPA)
- Excellent computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets
