OVERNIGHT Assistant Dining Manager

OverviewOur client, a large university based in Manhattan, seeks a temporary Dining Services Assistant Manager for a potential temp-to-perm opportunity. Reporting to the General Manager, the Assistant Manager is accountable for various aspects of administering Food Services in cafeteria, cafe, grab & go, and catering formats.DutiesParticipates and assists in implementing promotional programs.Maintains inventory control and cash control.Supervises staff to ensure quality services are provided in a challenging and rewarding work environment.Assists in the hiring, training, evaluating, disciplining, and terminating personnel as needed.Provides support in daily operations to ensure the goals and objectives of Dining Services are met.Assists in implementing fiscal management to ensure goals are met in a cost-effective manner.Maintains health, safety, and sanitation standards.Ensures quality control.Evaluates, responds, and makes recommendations based on customer needs to maximize customer satisfaction.Assists in special projects as assigned.QualificationsA degree from an accredited college or culinary school, or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of a High School Diploma is required.At least 2 years of restaurant or hospitality supervisory experience.An active NYC DOHMH Food Handlers Certificate.Familiarity with kitchen management practices and culinary operations.Proficiency in using POS systems and managing shift schedules efficiently.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.Experience with Microsoft Excel and WordCompany DescriptionForrest Solutions has been a privately owned company for 49 years.
