We are currently looking for a Cashier for a non-profit organization based in NYC at their bookshop to service the community and the visiting public. Its primary goal is to serve as an element in the activities of its outreach and public relations and work closely with the tours and visitors’ area to promote its image to the general public.Hours: Monday – Friday 9 AM – 6 PMResponsibilities include:Responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the bookstore, including but not limited to:Opening and/or closing the bookstore dailyOperating a cash register accurately and effectively on a daily basisCreating and maintaining accurate reports, records, and filesMaintaining a clean and orderly bookstore and stockroomAssists with ordering, receiving, merchandising, and stocking merchandise; communicates discrepancies (as directed) to management.Protects the assets of the bookstore.Assists with annual store inventory.Performs daily deposit duties.Requirements:High School or equivalent degree is requiredFluency in English is required; knowledge of other languages is desirablePrevious bookstore/retail experience is desirableComputer literacy is a plusCompany DescriptionForrest Solutions has been a privately owned company for 49 years.
