Overview
We are seeking a motivated Production Operation Specialist to join our manufacturing team. This energetic role is key role in supporting day-to-day manufacturing activities. This position help optimize daily manufacturing performance across blending, encapsulation. Packaging, and kitting within a dietary supplement manufacturing facility. In this role, you will support a safe, high-quality, and compliant production environment while driving improvements in operational efficiency and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through continuous improvement initiatives. The position works closely with production leadership and cross-functional partners to ensure operations run efficiently, production schedules are met, and quality standards remain consistent.
Responsibilities
- Support daily production operations by monitoring batch progress, workflow accuracy, and adherence to production schedules.
- Oversee daily production workflow and support schedule adherence across manufacturing operations.
- Assist in tracking labor productivity, including time studies and reporting to identify areas for operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with 21 CFR Part 111, internal GMP procedures, and strong batch documentation practices.
- Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) (Availability, Performance, Quality) using operational data and floor-level insights.
- Identify opportunities to reduce controllable downtime and improve changeover efficiency through standardized processes and structured problem-solving.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to support preventive maintenance planning and execution.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen events.
- Train and mentor production operators on equipment setup, operational standards, and GMP documentation requirements.
- Support audit readiness and assist with deviation investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality Control, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Production Planning to remove bottlenecks and improve throughput.
- Promote and maintain a safety-first culture, including adherence to PPE requirements and safe work practices
- Ensure proper batch tracking, including reviewing production paperwork for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a resource to team members by providing guidance on processes, SOPs, and production standards.
- Coordinate and support new hire and cross-training activities within the production department, ensuring training records are maintained.
- Act as a liaison between production and quality teams to support investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in internal audits and assist in preparing documentation for inspections or external audits.
- Assist with data collection and reporting related to production KPIs (key performance indicators).
- Identify and escalate any production process issues to leadership for resolution.
- Champion a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the production floor.
- Maintain document control processes, including organizing, updating, and tracking production records to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical or manufacturing-related field preferred.
Experience:
- 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in food, nutraceutical, or pharmaceutical industries.
- Strong knowledge of GMP regulations and batch documentation practices.
- Experience tracking manufacturing KPIs, OEE metrics, and production performance indicators.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing methodologies, including 5S and continuous improvement practices. (Required)
