PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, inspecting, organizing, storing, and distributing materials, supplies, and equipment while maintaining accurate inventory records. This role supports warehouse operations, production, and shipping activities by ensuring materials are handled safely, efficiently, and according to company procedures.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders.
- Record and document all received materials using receiving reports and inventory systems.
- Label, identify, and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Uncrate and unpack equipment shipments when necessary.
- Coordinate with Quality Control for inspection of incoming materials.
- Process customer returns according to company procedures.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and audits.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices.
- Keep warehouse and storage areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Receive shipments from carriers such as UPS, FedEx, USPS, and freight companies.
- Assist with production, blending, filling, and packaging operations as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures, including handling potentially hazardous chemicals.
- Perform additional warehouse duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION:
Required:
- Minimum of 2 years of warehouse, receiving, shipping, or material handling experience.
- Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory procedures.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic computer and math skills.
Essential Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain inventory and shipping records.
- Experience using barcode scanners, printers, and inventory software.
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, carts, and ladders safely.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds safely.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.

Education and/or Training
- High school diploma or equivalent.
