What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auto Body Technician position at Formula Collision Werks?
Formula Collision Werks is looking for a skilled and motivated Auto Body Technician to join our team in San Fernando. We’re a fast-paced, quality-focused shop handling both insurance and high-end repair work with a focus on enthusiast vehicles.
What You’ll Do
- Inspect damage and plan efficient, proper repairs
- Perform structural and non-structural repairs to OEM standards (including welding and cutting as necessary utilizing eye protection and other safety standard)
- Disassemble and reassemble vehicles (interior, trim, electrical components, etc, as required for the repair)
- Make correct repair vs. replace decisions based on safety and quality
- Work closely with estimators and team to keep jobs moving on time
- Maintain clean, organized work area
What We’re Looking For
- Ability to fully prep a vehicle for paint starting from damaged condition
- Ability to repair bent/damaged metal using pullers and spot welding methods
- Experience filling repaired metal correctly using proper body filler
- Strong skills in dent repair, sanding, and final prep work
- Experience with complete reassembly after repair
- Familiarity with body shop tools, equipment, and safety procedures
- Ability to read estimates and follow repair plans
- Detail-oriented with pride in quality work
- Team player with good communication
- I-CAR and manufacturer certifications are a plus
Pay: $28.00 - $37.00 per hour
