A day in the life You walk the production floor first thing, performing preventive checks on key machines and HVAC units to keep uptime at its peak. When an alarm triggers on a line, you move quickly—diagnosing the issue, correcting faults, and getting operations back on track. Some days you’ll fabricate a small tool, machine a replacement part, or assist in relocating equipment—dismantling, leveling, fitting, and aligning to spec. You wrap up by documenting your work in maintenance logs, requesting the parts you need, and leaving the area clean and compliant with quality, safety, and sanitation standards. What you’ll take on Troubleshoot and repair production equipment to maximize availability for manufacturing needs.Identify malfunctions and operating issues; perform the required adjustments and repairs.Rebuild and overhaul problematic components and attachments, including teardown, inspection, machining, or replacing purchased parts.Respond to equipment alarms and correct breakdowns efficiently.Fabricate parts or tools when needed to complete a repair.Support installation and relocation of machinery: dismantle, erect, level, fit, and align equipment.Perform general maintenance on the building, facilities, and grounds.Assist in defining project scope and requirements for completion.Execute preventive maintenance on production machinery and on HVAC systems.Create and maintain required maintenance records, logs, and files.Request additional parts and supplies as needed to sustain uptime.Maintain a clean work area; follow all quality, safety, and sanitation procedures.Perform other duties as assigned.
