About the Role
We are seeking a full-time Intellectual Property & Operations Employee to oversee the protection, documentation, and strategic management of our IP portfolio while maintaining excellence in operational execution. This role combines intellectual property coordination with cross-functional operational responsibilities, ensuring that our patents, trademarks, and proprietary processes are safeguarded while the business runs smoothly.
You will work closely with leadership, product, and legal partners to protect innovation, streamline processes, and ensure operational compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Intellectual Property Management
- Maintain and update IP portfolio including patents, trademarks, and proprietary technology documentation
- Coordinate with external legal counsel on filings, renewals, and enforcement
- Track IP timelines, deadlines, and documentation for both domestic and international protection
- Support due diligence and compliance efforts related to IP in partnerships, licensing, and product development
- Maintain confidentiality and proper internal controls for proprietary information
Operations & Process Management
- Support cross-functional operations across product, manufacturing, and logistics to ensure timely execution
- Create, maintain, and improve SOPs for key business processes
- Oversee vendor and contract management, ensuring operational and legal alignment
- Manage compliance tracking for regulatory and certification requirements (FDA, health-related claims, etc.)
- Coordinate with finance on budgeting and tracking of IP-related and operational expenses
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; legal, biotech, or related field preferred
- 2–3 years of experience in operations, intellectual property management, or related field
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners
- Experience with legal documentation, contract review, or compliance tracking preferred
- Strong proficiency in spreadsheets and document management systems (Google Workspace, Notion, etc.)
- Based within a reasonable commute to West Los Angeles; authorized to work in the U.S.
