What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Environmental Scientist/Engineer position at Formation Environmental LLC and Careers?
Formation Environmental, LLC (Formation) is currently seeking a motivated and talented Project Scientist or Engineer with a strong background in project implementation in accordance with CERCLA regulations, working with multidisciplinary technical staff in applying the principles of contaminant fate and transport to characterize environmental conditions and identify remedy solutions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience as a client facing professional, a strong aptitude in planning and implementing hydrogeological and geochemical investigations, analyzing environmental data, preparing interpretive reports, and collaborating with regulatory agencies.
- Environmental data organization, interpretation, and presentation.
- Evaluating current and/or historical multi-source contaminant contributions to the environment at hazardous waste, mining, and/or petrochemical industry sites.
- Researching and synthesizing complex historical records and connecting this information to technically based fate and transport interpretations.
- Prepare work plans, sampling and analysis plans, and quality assurance project plans.
- Coordinating and directing multidisciplinary teams, comprised of various technical experience levels, to perform data collection and reporting.
- Planning and implementing projects in accordance with environmental regulations.
- Experience in scheduling of staff and resources to ensure project delivery on time and within budget.
- Leading meetings with client and other project stakeholders and facilitating effective collaboration.

- Knowledge of CERCLA and Natural Resource Damage Assessment regulations.
- Hands-on experience working on environmental site characterization, remediation, and/or studies.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
- Able to obtain medical clearance for field work at hazardous waste sites (field activities require travel and vary in scope and duration)
- Strong all-around knowledge of hydrogeology, hydrology, environmental-media sampling, as well as ability to organize, process, and interpret data (e.g., Excel, R, Python, Access, SQL, ArcGIS)
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and experience in complying with such regulations.
- An ability to plan and execute field investigations, with knowledge of proper sampling techniques.
- Experience with industry-standard transport modeling and chemical-analysis software is a plus.

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rules, Formation offers benefits for full-time positions. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage along with a 401K plan, short- and long-term disability, life insurance, vacation and sick days, and additional optional benefits. The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $95,000 per year, commensurate with education, experience, and ability.
