What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welders 1st Shift position at Forma-Fab Metals?
Shift: Monday-Thursday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, overtime as needed
Position Summary:
To weld and fabricate parts in accordance with specifications and per company workmanship standards by performing the following functions.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:
- Perform efficient welding of various metal objects, including heavy and light gauge carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless, using both MIG and TIG equipment
- Analyze blueprints/drawings, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations
- Set up, troubleshoot, and adjust equipment
- Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers
- Report all non-conforming material to the Welding Team Leader and/or Shop Foreman immediately
- Input and maintain data in ERP computer system/Global
Requirements:
- Maintain excellent attendance and possess the flexibility to work overtime
- HS education with a minimum of 2 years welding experience
- Possess a solid understanding of welding equipment and tooling
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, welding process specifications, and welding symbols
- Must be able to operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments
- Must have the ability to weld in all positions with good penetration and quality
- Must be able to read a tape measure, pressure gauge, level, square, and use a variety of power tools
- Work independently and follow direction
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Basic computer skills
A welding test will be administered as part of the application process

- Humidity level may be elevated during the summer months
- Exposure to certain containments, at times
- Exposure to loud noise, at times
