Join our team as a Dispatcher and play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation processes. As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for coordinating shipments, communicating with drivers and customers, and maintaining accurate records. Your attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will contribute to the success of our logistics operations.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Coordinate and dispatch drivers to appropriate locations for material deliveries and/or pick-ups.
- Communicate with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on shipment status
- Resolve any issues or delays that may arise during the transportation process
- Schedule preventative maintenance on company trucks
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally
- Review resumes and interview applicants for open driver positions as needed
Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-2 years previous experience in dispatching or logistics preferred
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Phone etiquette and customer service experience is essential
- Understanding of 3PL (third-party logistics) operations is beneficial
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel and Word

- Physical Stamina: While dispatching itself may not be physically demanding, the job often involves long hours and irregular shifts. Dispatchers should have the stamina to work extended periods and remain alert throughout their shift.
