Responsibilities
- Own and execute on small-medium projects from beginning to end, handling most of the project management and working with team members to complete on time and on budget.
- Collaborate on large projects under the guidance of senior designers.
- Create preliminary client budgets and schedules, and updating as needed
- Create vision boards
- Create furniture plans and design concepts
- Research and source furnishings, fixtures, and finishes, working with vendors
- Create client storyboards
- Create architectural 3D models (bonus), renderings (bonus), and 2D drawings
- Create detailed permit and construction drawing sets, including plans, elevations, sections
- Design and create construction drawings for interior architectural details, custom millwork, and furniture
- Review and send client proposals for approval
- Oversee the construction process - meeting with contractors, clients, and vendors on a regular basis to ensure that the design is executed to plan
- Collaborate with contractors, clients, and vendors on creative solutions when issues or problems are identified
- Prepare, manage, and maintain project files, correspondence, drawings, etc.
- Manage and help with installations and styling
- Identify areas where process improvements are needed on a continuous basis
- Work with team members to improve processes and updating documentation as needed
- Mentor less skilled and experienced designers and help them improve their skills
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of work experience in an interior design firm (not a showroom or furniture store)
- Residential FF&E and construction experience required
- Authorized to work in the United States - we do NOT sponsor
- Proven ability to be self-reliant
- High level of professional maturity
- BS/BA degree in Architecture or Interior Design
Technical Skills Desired
- Expertise in AutoCAD and proficiency in Sketchup
- Comfort and familiarity in Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides
- Comfort and familiarity with communication and project management software such as Asana
- Comfort with hand sketching to communicate an idea
- Working proficiency and real world knowledge of design process, principles, construction methods, and creating detailed construction drawings with proper notation for permit.
- Working proficiency in sourcing from trade-only and artisan/maker resources and designing custom furniture. You stay on top of all the latest modern/contemporary designers, vendors, products.
- Modernist design sensibility that resonates with Form Field’s portfolio of work.
Performance Skills Desired
- Great communication skills (clear, proactive, direct, and frequent for both written and verbal) to interface with vendors, contractors, clients, teammates.
- Highly organized with ability to breakdown a large project into smaller tasks and sequence the tasks appropriately.
- Highly proficient or expertise in project management, taking projects from start to finish, working on all steps along the way, and requiring little supervision.
- Excellent attention to detail - you double check your work and learn from mistakes.
- Time management skills - knowing how much effort and time to put into the different priorities at hand.
- Highly motivated, proactive self-starter who has a strong sense of urgency and follow-through. You proactively research things that you don’t know or aren’t sure of.
- Humility to to do whatever is needed at any given time no matter if it’s grunt work. No divas please.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year depending on experience and skill
