Role Description The Assistant Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in Oxford, MS. This position supports the Superintendent in managing daily field operations, including overseeing subcontractors, coordinating trades, and ensuring work is performed safely, on schedule, and according to plans and specifications. The Assistant Superintendent helps maintain site documentation, daily logs, and progress reports, and assists with quality control inspections and punch lists. The role includes monitoring material deliveries, helping enforce safety protocols, communicating with project managers and vendors, and addressing field issues as they arise. The individual in this role works closely with the site team to keep projects organized, on track, and aligned with FORM Design Build’s standards.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting field construction activities, including coordination of subcontractors, site logistics, and daily job-site documentation.
- Working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and building codes, with the ability to read and interpret plans and details.
- Understanding of commercial construction processes, scheduling, and project phasing, preferably within design-build or general contracting environments.
- Commitment to job-site safety, including familiarity with OSHA standards and participation in enforcing safety procedures and toolbox talks.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact professionally with crews, project managers, design partners, and clients.
- Basic proficiency with construction management software, mobile applications, and standard office tools for reporting and documentation.
- Ability to work on-site daily in Oxford, MS, including standing, walking, and working in outdoor conditions as required by the project.
- Previous experience in a field role such as field engineer, assistant superintendent, or similar is preferred; relevant education in construction management or a related field is beneficial.
