Now Hiring: Event Captain (a.k.a. The Maestro of Memorable Meals)
Location: Coastal Southern California
Type: Full-Time | Nights, Weekends, and Wherever the Party’s At
Salary: Competitive Gratitude (and gratuities)
Start Date: ASAP – weddings won’t wait!
About Us:
We’re a fast-paced, high-energy, high-fiving catering company serving California's most unforgettable events—from black-tie galas to beachside “I Do’s.” We’re known for our impeccable service, incredible food, and ability to keep cool even when the ice sculpture starts to sweat.
Our team is stacked with pros who love what they do—and now we’re looking for you to help lead the charge.
About the Role:
As Event Captain, you’re the MVP of events, the calm in the kitchen storm, the clipboard-wielding wizard who ensures every tray-passed bite, plated entrée, and champagne toast goes off without a hitch.
You’ll manage staff with charm, oversee service with precision, and solve problems with MacGyver-level ingenuity. Guests won’t know your name—but they’ll remember how smooth the night went.
Your Recipe for Success:
- You’ve got 4 years experience in catering, banquets, or event service
- You lead like a boss, but serve like a pro (both literally and figuratively)
- Fluent in banquet B.S. translation: "We need 50 more chairs" doesn't scare you
- Cool under pressure—even when the hostess is not
- Sharp eye for detail and a radar for wrinkled linens
- Strong communicator (walkie-talkie fluent)
- Able to lift 30 lbs, work on your feet for hours, and smile doing it
You’ll Be:
- Managing service staff on-site
- Coordinating with chefs, planners, and venues
- Problem-solving on the fly (coffee spill on a white tablecloth? You’ve got backup linens and a Jedi mind trick)
- Keeping events running on time, on vibe, and on point
- Ensuring guests have an unforgettable (and seamlessly smooth) experience
Perks of the Gig:
- Work at stunning venues (wine country, beachfront, mansions, and more)
- Flexible schedule (especially if your “weekend” is Tuesday)
- Opportunities for advancement — we love promoting from within
- Team that works hard, laughs harder
- Clothing stipend, cell phone reimbursement, car wash
- Staff meals that make you question your home cooking
How to Apply:
Send us your résumé, a short note about why you’re the Banquet Boss we’ve been dreaming of, and your favorite “event disaster turned success” story (bonus points if it involves flaming desserts).
Let’s make magic—and maybe a few messes (that no one will ever know about).
[Apply Now] — Because the party doesn’t plan itself.
