What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project & Account Manager (E-Commerce / Web Development) position at Forix?
We’re looking for an experienced Project & Account Manager to help our eCommerce clients stay informed, supported, and moving forward. You’ll manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring their projects stay on track, priorities are clear, and they’re getting the most out of our team’s expertise.
You’ll need to be equal parts account manager, project manager, and eCommerce operator. If you’ve worked in a fast-paced agency before, you know the rhythm - juggling multiple clients, balancing budgets, and working with teams of developers, designers, and analysts. You may have also been a developer.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who’s proactive and hands-on. You take ownership of the details that make projects run smoothly and use your experience to help raise the standard for project management across our team. You lead by example, organizing chaos, clarifying priorities, and keeping everyone accountable.
What You’ll Do
- Manage a portfolio of 15–20 active clients, keeping them informed and on track.
- Build and maintain roadmaps that help clients prioritize work and plan effectively.
- Lead regular client calls and status meetings to update progress, plan next steps, and identify new opportunities.
- Keep a close watch on budgets, hours, and scope to ensure projects remain under control.
- Translate business goals into clear technical requirements and developer tasks.
- Anticipate and resolve issues such as scope creep, misaligned expectations, or blockers.
- Create tools and documentation to bring clarity and visibility to complex projects.
- Partner closely with developers, designers, and QA to deliver high-quality work efficiently.
- Present updates confidently to stakeholders at all levels, from marketing leads to executives.
What We’re Looking For
- 4-8 years in a client-facing agency environment, preferably focused on eCommerce, OR experience as a developer in the same.
- Strong understanding of Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, or similar platforms.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously without losing control of the details.
- Fluent in technical terminology and comfortable working with developers.
- Proactive and organized - you don’t wait for things to happen, you make them happen.
- A creative problem solver who finds answers and keeps projects moving.
- Confident communicator who can present work and lead conversations with clients and internal teams.
- Someone who takes pride in creating structure, accountability, and momentum.
Bonus Points
- Experience managing development teams or technical contractors.
- Strong working knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with retainer-based billing and time tracking.
- Background in eCommerce strategy, UX, development, or digital marketing.
