Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled, self-motivated Remodeling Lead Carpenter / Project Coordinator to
join our remodeling division. This role is ideal for a hands-on carpenter who can also communicate
directly with homeowners, coordinate project details, and support estimating and project planning.
This job requires a professional individual who can work independently with minimal supervision,
represent the company well in customers' homes, and keep small to mid-sized remodeling projects
moving smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Carpentry & On-Site Work:
- Perform high-quality carpentry, including framing, trim work, door/window installation,
cabinetry adjustments, and general remodeling tasks.
- Maintain jobsite organization, cleanliness, and safety.
- Solve day-to-day construction issues proactively without constant oversight.
Client Interaction & Communication:
- Conduct on-site walk-throughs with homeowners to discuss project scope, progress, and
next steps.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, representing the company’s values at all times.
- Explain remodeling processes, timelines, expectations, and any necessary decisions
homeowners need to make.
Project Coordination:
- Review plans, scopes of work, and material lists; identify missing information and follow up
as needed.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and internal team members to keep work on schedule.
- Assist in scheduling inspections, deliveries, and trade partners.
- Document progress using company systems (photos, notes, updates).
Estimating & Job Setup:
- Take basic measurements and gather information needed to create accurate bids.
- Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors when needed.
- Work with the project manager or estimator to finalize scopes and pricing.
- Assist with ordering materials and verifying deliveries.
Qualifications
Required:
- Residential remodeling or carpentry experience.
- Strong understanding of remodeling sequences, building components, and typical
residential construction practices.
- Excellent communication skills, especially in customer-occupied homes.
- Ability to work independently, make decisions, and problem-solve on site.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred:
- Experience coordinating small remodeling projects or leading a crew.
- Commercial construction experience.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand construction documents.
- Basic estimating experience (or willingness to learn).
- Familiarity with project management or construction management software.
