What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Lead position at FORGOTTEN HARVEST?
The Inventory department at Forgotten Harvest manages the inventory levels within the Distribution Center. This comprises the management of items from the time received into stock, to their destination. The Inventory Lead is responsible for the tracking of donated and purchased Food within the Distribution Center. This is done by performing daily cycle counts and weekly audits on material received and shipped by the receiving and shipping groups and reporting discrepancies to the Inventory Supervisor.
The primary duties of this position are:
- Serve as a backup to the Inventory Supervisor
- Deliver effective training to employees and volunteers on fork-lift and hi-lo equipment
- Participates in weekly inventory and cycle counts with Finance by making and verifying inventory counts as well as investigating discrepancies
- Assures that receiving counts match donation/agency orders through packing slips
- Track the movement of inventory items from the time they arrive at Forgotten Harvest to the time they are sent to a partner agency
- Ensure the accuracy of all receipting of inventory and donated products by following procedures and form control
- Ensure that all shipping and receiving functions are completed accurately, matching receiving receipts and Agency Invoices
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual summaries related to inventory accuracy
- Review and report daily inventory adjustments and changes
- Develop, implement, and maintain all procedures and protocols in regard to proper inventory control for the purpose of maintaining accurate inventory
- Verify ongoing products by checking printed picks against pulled inventory tags
- Investigate missing product and weight discrepancies within the warehouse
- Reenter product previously shipped and returned from agencies, returning back to stock for shipping and record in the warehouse management system
- Assist warehouse order selector with finding product that is available in the system that cannot be found in the bin location
- Must have 3 years of warehouse experience
- High school diploma
- Must be able to drive a reach truck, scissor lift, Honeywell handheld scanner
- Must have experience working within a position responsible for inventory control
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task and be flexible
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and good time management skills
- Ability to interact effectively with individuals of diverse background, experiences, and personalities
- Ability to meet crises calmly, show attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and in a team environment
