Overview
Forged Fitness is seeking an energetic, knowledgeable, and community-driven Group Fitness Instructor with the opportunity to also train personal clients under a percentage split model. This dual role is ideal for fitness professionals who thrive in both group environments and one-on-one coaching, with a passion for helping members reach their fitness goals.
As a Group Fitness Instructor, you’ll deliver high-energy, results-focused workouts that foster community, accountability, and progress. As a Personal Trainer, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your own client base with the support of our facility, leveraging both group classes and individual coaching.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Group Fitness Instruction
- Lead safe, engaging, and motivating group fitness classes for participants of all levels.
- Provide clear demonstrations and coaching on proper exercise form and technique.
- Modify workouts to accommodate varying fitness levels, ensuring inclusivity and safety.
- Create a fun, supportive, and challenging environment that builds community and retention.
- Arrive prepared, professional, and punctual for every class.
Personal Training
- Demonstrate the value of personal training by creating an outstanding client experience.
- Conduct assessments and consultations to understand clients’ goals, limitations, and preferences.
- Design and deliver customized training programs tailored to each client’s needs.
- Track progress, adjust programs as needed, and celebrate client achievements.
- Promote personal training services within the gym while maintaining a supportive, non-salesy approach.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of exercise science, program design, and proper technique.
- Ability to inspire, coach, and motivate members of varying backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service mindset.
- Experience in leading group classes and/or personal training preferred.
- Professional presence with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
Certifications / Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field OR a nationally accredited Personal Training Certification (NASM, ACE, NSCA, ACSM, ISSA, etc.).
- Group fitness certification preferred (ACE Group Fitness, Les Mills, AFAA, etc.).
- Professional liability insurance preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Physical effort required for daily duties, including lifting weights, squatting, bending, reaching, spotting, and extended periods of standing/walking.
