Job Summary

Forge25 is a growing engineering and services firm and an industry leader in telecommunications. We are seeking a motivated, strategic, and highly proactive financial leader to join our team as a Controller.

In this role, you won't just manage the books; you will be the primary architect of our financial infrastructure and scaling strategy. Reporting directly to executive leadership, you will take full ownership of our financial health, establish robust internal controls, and drive forward-looking budgeting and forecasting. This role requires a hands-on strategic thinker who can manage a small accounting team, oversee multi-entity financial health, and navigate the unique complexities of project-based accounting in the construction and telecommunications sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Strategy, Budgeting & Forecasting: Build, maintain, and manage company budgets and forward-looking cash flow forecasts to guide executive decision-making and support business scaling.
  • Internal Controls & Risk Management: Design, implement, and enforce robust internal control policies and procedures to mitigate financial risk and ensure strict GAAP compliance.
  • Team Leadership & Oversight: Supervise, mentor, and elevate a small accounting team. Monitor daily workflows for Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to optimize working capital.
  • Multi-Entity Reporting & Analytics: Take full ownership of the General Ledger, P&L statements, and Balance Sheets across multiple corporate entities. Deliver sophisticated, automated financial dashboards for real-time visibility.
  • Construction & Project Accounting: Oversee Job Costing, Work-In-Progress (WIP) analysis, and inventory variance specifically tailored to tower and civil construction projects to optimize project profit margins.
  • Process Modernization: Proactively identify inefficiencies in our existing financial ecosystem and lead software-driven initiatives (NetSuite preferred) to modernize operations.
  • Executive & Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key strategic partner to executive leadership, translating complex financial data into actionable insights for project managers, engineers, and investors.
  • Compliance & Audit Management: Lead month-end and year-end closing processes. Oversee sales/use tax and personal property tax filings, and act as the primary point of contact for external bank, year-end, and tax audits.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience: 5 years of progressive accounting and financial experience, with a proven track record of scaling an accounting function in a growing business.
  • Leadership: Minimum of 2 years in a dedicated management or supervisory role (Accounting Manager or Controller level preferred).
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep experience in Construction financial management (WIP, Job Costing) is preferred; Telecommunications experience is also preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expert-level mastery of corporate financial planning, cash flow forecasting, budgeting, internal controls, and GAAP principles.
  • Software: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Workspace is preferred. Hands-on experience with NetSuite or similar ERP software is a major plus.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA or CMA designation is a plus.

Why Forge25?

  • Compensation: Competitive salary ($100k–$130k) and a performance-driven culture.
  • Benefits: Comprehensive Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance.
  • Balance: Generous PTO, Paid Holidays, and a genuine focus on work-life integration.

  • Culture: A down-to-earth, casual, and highly collaborative team environment.
