What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sign Shop Assistant – Surface Prep & Finishing position at Forge Signworks?
Forge Signworks, a custom signage company with over 85 years in the industry, is looking for a reliable and hard-working Sign Shop Laborer to support our production team. This is a full-time, hands-on position where you’ll help prep materials, maintain workflow, and keep projects moving efficiently. Automotive shop experience is a plus!
What You’ll Do:
- Use sanders and other power tools to prep aluminum surfaces for painting
- Assist the painter by keeping materials moving through the shop efficiently
- Help with general shop labor as needed to support daily production
- Follow all safety protocols and handle materials weighing up to 50–75 lbs
What We’re Looking For:
- Familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools
- Strong work ethic and ability to manage time effectively
- Willingness to learn and take direction in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented and dependable
Requirements:
- Valid NJ driver’s license with a good driving record
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Must be able to pass an OSHA safety test (we will provide the test)
