Job Summary:
We are seeking a Drafting Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and editing 2D signage models using industry-standard software as well as developing detailed material lists for each drawing. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of drafting techniques and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Creation of detailed shop drawings which include vector illustration with signage attachment method and electrical requirements
- Retrieve data and translate files to the proper format to read files into offline programming software for designing, detailing and adjustment as per shop requirements.
- Material nesting and file set-up to maximize output of the router.
- Assist operators by answering questions pertaining to any problems found in the routing, accu-bend, plotter, and printing programs and/or part files supplied.
- Creation of detailed Bill of Materials (BOM's) to aid in the fabrication of each sign type drawn.
- Prioritize continuous improvement to identify and implement processes that will improve productivity, quality, and profitability.
- Quickly troubleshoot issues on-the-spot to meet customer quality expectations.
- Effectively manage time to ensure on-time delivery of every project.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Drafting Technician or in a related field.
- Knowledge of CAD/Design software, such as CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator, Graphtec, Accub-Bend.
- Ability to create accurate and detailed 2D signage models.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of mechanical design and 2D animation software.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
