Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tool & Die Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing tooling and dies used in forging equipment. You will contribute directly to our production and quality goals by ensuring the dies are ready and function optimally.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on tooling and dies
- Assemble and prepare tool die sets to meet production needs
- Grind/polish dies to prepare for production
- Set up and operate common toolroom machinery
- Interpret blueprints
- Operate CNC machining equipment
- Fabricate tool components per blueprint specifications
- Use precision measurement tools such as dial calipers and micrometers
- Perform minor reworks of defects by welding and grinding
- Assign part numbers and heat codes to dies
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, tool setups, calibration logs, and repair histories; ensure all work complies with safety protocols
- Maintain orderly die room work cells
- Transport finished dies from die prep area to staging racks using a forklift truck
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of heavy industry
- Toolmaking & repair for metal forming equipment
- TIG Welding
- Blueprint reading
- Use of measuring tools including dial calipers and micrometers
- Forklift
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
