What are the responsibilities and job description for the Superintendent position at Forge ManagementCo?
Title: Superintendent
Reports to: Adam Hammons
Duties:
- Oversee construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and ownership team to develop project plans and ensure smooth execution.
- Regularly inspects work for quality and timeliness; prepares and provides progress reports to the Operation department; makes recommendations for necessary modifications.
- Manage and allocate resources efficiently, including materials, equipment, and labor.
- Purchases materials and appropriate equipment needed for job-sites.
- Supervise and direct construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans and resolving any issues.
- Ensure construction work meets quality standards and complies with building codes and regulations.
- Serve as the main point of contact for General Contractors, providing updates, resolving concerns, and maintaining project documentation.
- Lead and manage the on-site construction team, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Monitor project costs, review invoices, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Identify and solve problems to keep the project on track and mitigate risks.
- Work at the Factory performing QAQC tasks when not working at the field or jobsite.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education or certifications in construction management are beneficial.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, codes, and regulations.
- Ability to lead teams, resolve conflicts, and communicate effectively.
- Proficiency in planning, scheduling, and resource management.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, and plans.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make timely decisions.
- Familiarity with construction software and the ability to read construction drawings.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols.
- Must be able to acces and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks and be on your feet for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting heavy objects and performing tasks that require physical strength and coordination.
- Able to navigate different terrains, climb ladders or scaffolding, and access confined spaces.
- Good eyesight and hearing to observe, assess, and communicate effectively on the construction site.
- Overall good health to cope with physical demands and work in various weather conditions.
