Who We Need
We're seeking an efficiency-oriented collaborator who thrives on precision and process excellence while driving continuous improvement. As our Property Accountant, you'll be the dedicated steward of financial accuracy and timeliness, creating exceptional experiences for the teams that rely on your work while ensuring our accounting operations maintain the highest standards of integrity and performance.
What You'll Do
In this role, you'll blend meticulous attention to detail with strategic process improvement:
- Financial Statement Preparation: Generate accurate and timely financial statements for assigned properties and/or corporate books, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled according to GAAP standards and company policies.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform detailed monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies with methodical precision and clear documentation.
- Cash Management: Monitor and reconcile cash activities across property accounts, ensuring accurate cash flow reporting and proper allocation of funds.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable Oversight: Coordinate with AP & AR Specialists, ensuring proper coding, authorization, and documentation while identifying opportunities for improved efficiency.
- Month-End Close Excellence: Execute assigned components of the month-end closing process with exceptional accuracy and adherence to established timelines.
- Process Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of accounting procedures, identifying and implementing refinements that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with property management teams to address financial inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and provide insights that support operational decision-making.
- Compliance Support: Assist with audit preparations and regulatory compliance requirements, providing clear documentation and explanations of financial activities.
- Corporate Accounting: QBO general ledger, corporate reconciliations, intracompany reconciliations, participating interest accrual inputs, management fee billing, corporate close support)

The Ideal Match
Experience with Entrata accounting systems and at least 5 years in property management is highly valued, as is your ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders. Grasp of GAAP accounting practices, accruals, and a finance/accounting degree is ideal.
You're a detail-oriented accounting professional with a strong foundation in financial principles and practices. Your methodical approach to work is balanced by a genuine commitment to continuous improvement and exceptional service. You thrive in collaborative environments while maintaining the independence to manage your responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Compensation & Position Details
- Base Salary: $75,000-$95,000/year, paid semi-monthly
- Bonus Structure: 8% performance bonus available, subject to the terms of the company's bonus program, which may be amended from time to time
- Reports to: Controller
- Location: Seattle, WA or Salt Lake City, UT. Hybrid Working Requirements: 3 days in office.
