Position Overview:
They are seeking an experienced Electrical Field Service Technician/Engineer to join their U.S. support team. In this role, you will focus on the electrical assembly, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of asphalt mixing plants at customer sites. This position involves substantial fieldwork and travel, supporting clients across select U.S. states as needed. You will report directly to the Product Support Supervisor.
The ideal candidate should have experience in heavy fabrication, weldments, or the heavy manufacturing industry
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Assembly & Installation:
Perform on-site installation and electrical hookup of asphalt mixing plant systems.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
Commissioning & Diagnostics:
Carry out electrical testing and commissioning of systems (motors, sensors, PLCs, power panels, etc.).
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control systems, wiring faults, and automation logic.
Calibrate instruments and verify functionality of all electrical components before handover.
Maintenance & Field Support:
Provide on-site and remote electrical service, troubleshooting, and repair support.
Client Support & Training:
Serve as the primary technical contact for clients during service engagements.
Provide hands-on training to customer personnel on equipment operation and electrical maintenance best practices.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in electrical service roles involving industrial machinery, preferably asphalt or construction equipment.
Certifications: OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E, or similar certifications preferred.
Key Competencies:
Electrical Expertise: Knowledge of AC/DC systems, PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), VFDs, HMI, motor controls, and industrial wiring.
Diagnostics: Ability to identify and resolve complex electrical faults using test equipment and control software.
Documentation: Competency in writing detailed reports and understanding technical documentation.
Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel extensively (up to 75%) and occasionally on weekends.
Work Conditions: Able to work in outdoor and industrial environments, lift to 50 lbs., and perform physically demanding tasks.
