What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pilates Instructor (Reformer & Mat), Independent Contractor position at Forge Fitness?
About Forge Fitness
Forge Fitness is a boutique, coach-led gym in Hicksville offering personal training, small-group training, Pilates, yoga, nutrition coaching, and massage therapy. We’re not a big-box gym. Our members come to us for personalized programming, real coaching, and accountability, and we want our Pilates program to deliver the same experience.
We’re looking for a skilled Pilates instructor to teach Reformer and Mat in a truly private setting. Classes are capped at three clients, so you can actually coach every person in the room.
What the work looks like
- Teach Semi-Private Reformer classes, Mat classes, and one-on-one Pilates sessions
- Work with small groups of 1–3 clients, with time to cue, correct, and progress each person
- Use our Reformers, dumbbells, stability balls, and mats
- Record attendance in our booking system
What we value
These aren’t requirements, but they’re how you grow here:
- Building lasting relationships with clients and keeping them coming back
- Tracking client progress and checking in with them through our app
- Helping clients find the right package or program
- Helping us build and shape the Pilates program at Forge
Instructors who do these well earn higher rates over time.
