Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Structural Project Engineer, P.E. at our Bucyrus, OH location, with flexibility for remote work. You will be responsible for overseeing and signing off on the engineering aspects of our NFPA certified training structures, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required specifications. This includes reviewing, testing, revising and optimizing designs. Maintaining thorough documentation of design iterations, material specs, and build references. You will plan, design, and coordinate project tasks in collaboration with cross-functional and external stakeholders. You will manage 3rd party delegated design engineers as necessary to secure NFPA, building code, and engineering standards across multiple states. Maintaining clear, proactive, and positive communication throughout the project lifecycle is a discipline and habit you value.
Qualifications
- 4 year degree in Engineering
- 4 years of experience with SolidWorks in a structural design capacity
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure
- Ability to secure multi-state licensure by comity to act as "stamping authority” to seal drawings in different states when possible
- Knowledge of mechanical principles, steel fabrication, and modular design
- Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and fabrication drawings
- Familiarity with CAD file version control and proper drawing documentation practices
- Understanding of manufacturing processes including welding, CNC cutting, and assembly
- Project Engineering and Project Management using available systems
- Experience collaborating effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients
- Creative problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results
