Role Description
This is a full-time, remote role for a Freight Agent based in Rockford, IL. The Freight Agent will be responsible for coordinating and managing shipments, tracking cargo, communicating with clients and suppliers, negotiating shipment rates, and ensuring timely deliveries. The role includes providing end-to-end logistics support and maintaining accurate records of all transactions.
Qualifications
- Experience in coordinating and managing shipments, including air, sea, and ground freight
- Proficiency in tracking cargo and providing real-time updates to clients
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for dealing with clients and suppliers
- Ability to ensure timely delivery and provide end-to-end logistics support
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining accurate records
- Proficiency in logistics software and tools
- Previous experience in the logistics or supply chain industry is a plus
