What are the responsibilities and job description for the Caregiver position at Forever Home AFH?
Casual Caregiver – Adult Family Home
We are looking for a dependable, compassionate caregiver to work in our family-owned Adult Family Home. The position involves providing care and support to three to four adults with disabilities in a comfortable, home-like setting.
Hours would be offered on an as-needed basis as plans or other needs arise. These shifts could include overnights or shorter shifts lasting only a couple of hours. We would contact you as hours become available or when we have something planned.
We are also specifically looking for someone who is available from November 19 through November 30. This would include staying overnight at the Adult Family Home. On weekdays, the caregiver would drop the residents off at their day center and then clock out for several hours during the day. The caregiver would clock back in when it is time to pick up the residents and would return to the home with them for the evening and overnight hours.
Caregiver responsibilities may include:
- Assisting residents with personal care and daily living needs
- Providing supervision, companionship, and emotional support
- Helping with meals, snacks, and light food preparation
- Administering or assisting with medications once properly trained
- Completing light housekeeping and laundry related to resident care
- Supporting residents with routines, activities, and community outings
- Providing transportation when needed
- Documenting services and reporting any concerns or changes
- Following each resident’s care plan and maintaining confidentiality
- Helping maintain a safe, respectful, and comfortable home environment
Applicants should be patient, dependable, respectful, and comfortable working with adults who have different abilities and support needs. Because we have dogs in our home, applicants must also be comfortable around dogs.
Caregiving experience is preferred but not necessarily required for the right person. Training will be provided. Applicants must be able to meet applicable caregiver requirements, complete a background check, and maintain any required certifications or training.
