Education/Qualification/Experience/Responsibilities
Master’s Degree in a relevant field of human services with two years’ experience in foster care OR Bachelor’s Degree in a MDHHS Policy approved education field with a minimum of 3 years of child welfare experience, preferably in foster care.
The Foster Care Supervisor will be responsible for providing direct supervision to up to 5 foster care case managers. The FC Supervisor must have the ability to facilitate team work, have strong organizational skills, excellent writing and technology skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with others, both verbally and in writing.
The FC Supervisor will provide supervision of the day-to-day activities of their staff, including providing formal individual supervision to staff a minimum of monthly; more as needed. The FC Supervisor will complete annual performance evaluations for each FCW on their team; if it is a new employee there is also a 6 month evaluation that must be completed.
Report to the Assistant Foster Care Program Manager on the foster care cases being supervised and compliance with state policies and procedures.
Assist the Assistant Foster Care Program Manager with conducting interviews for new hires and assisting with onboarding of new staff for your Unit. Assist the Assistant Foster Care Program Manager with the assignment and distribution of new cases.
Assist the Assistant Foster Care Program Manager with policy/procedures and training development pertinent to your department
Assumes additional job-related responsibilities as assigned
Work Environment, Physical Demands & Travel:
This job operates in a professional office environment and as needed includes field work in the community. Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
Position Classification, Type & Expected Hours of Work:
Monday through Friday; 8 hour work day
Availability/Flexibility within own schedule to meet the needs/schedules of clients and staff, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Hybrid/Flexible Schedule (2 days in the office and 3 days remote work)
Job Type: Full Time Exempt Position

Pass a criminal and Protective Services background check
Pay: $56,000 annually (salary negotiable dependent on experience and education)
