Responsibilities
- Provide personalized assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals promptly.
- Assist with medication administration following HIPAA guidelines to ensure privacy and safety.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas.
- Support residents during community outings or social activities to foster engagement and socialization.
- Maintain accurate care plans, document patient observations, and adhere to all safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures.
- Perform light cleaning duties to uphold a safe and hygienic environment for residents and staff.
Preferred Skills
- Proven experience in group home settings, assisted living, or home health environments with a focus on patient care.
- Knowledge of working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- Certification in CPR and first aid; familiarity with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts; strong physical stamina required for patient monitoring and caregiving tasks.
- Excellent observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing signs of distress or health changes.
- Experience in medication administration, care planning, and working within long-term care or hospice settings preferred.
