Fathering Specialist - Strong Fathers

Job Summary

The Fathering Specialist is focused on helping men become stronger fathers for their children and families. 

Major Responsibilities/Activities

• Comprehensive case management services including individual/group counseling and other services to non–custodial 18 years of age fathers interested in being more involved in the life of their child or children
• Conduct Parenting classes and other group work 
• Interview non-custodial fathers/consumers to assess needs and readiness for service
• Develop and implement a service plan with each non-custodial father
• Coordinate services with Life/Career Coach
• Provide face-to-face contact with clients at least twice a month
• Attend meetings and conferences with service providers and other related agencies and organizations involved with the consumer
• Provide crisis intervention to non-custodial fathers
• Document all activities and attempted activities related to planning and service provision for fathers
• Maintain and manage all record-keeping requirements as they relate to specific clients on caseload in a timely and accurate manner
• Participate in unit meetings, in-service training and other activities designed to enhance job performance
• Client recruitment
• Assist in emergency situations 
• Other duties as required by the supervisor or needs of the program/agency

Minimum Requirements 

• Bachelors from an accredited college or university
• Great organizational, written and verbal communication skills
• Energetic, self-directed and goals-focused approach to work with our non-custodial fathers
• Valid NYS Driver’s License preferred and must possess the ability to travel
• Candidate must be flexible; evenings and weekend hours may be required

Salary Range:    

Bachelors - $29.12/hr - $31.04/hr

Bachelors (Bilingual)- $30.22/hr - $32.15/hr

Masters - $30.22/hr - $33.24/hr

Masters (Bilingual) - $31.59/hr - $34.34/hr

Masters (Bilingual & License) - $34.43/hr - $37.09/h
