Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Lumber Yard Worker to join our team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently handling materials, operating heavy equipment, and supporting the overall logistics of the lumber yard. This role requires a strong work ethic some Prior experience is helpful, but not required.
Duties
- Load and unload lumber and building materials using forklifts,
- Perform order picking to fulfill customer orders accurately
- Operate forklift
- Assist with shipping & receiving processes, ensuring timely movement of materials in and out of the yard
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols
- Support warehouse distribution activities including materials handling and inventory management
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency
- Conduct routine mechanical checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning during operations
Requirements
- Previous warehouse experience, is a plus
- Experience operating forklifts.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and best practices for heavy equipment operations.
- Strong physical ability for heavy lifting and load & unload tasks throughout the shift
- Construction or warehouse experience is a plus
- Knowledge of warehouse distribution processes and inventory control procedures
