Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and friendly Counter Person to join our vibrant food service team at our bustling café. In this role, you will be the welcoming face of our establishment, providing exceptional customer service while efficiently handling food preparation, sales transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized counter area. Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with menu selections, orders, and inquiries in a lively, engaging manner
• Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and safety standards, including sandwiches, salads, or other quick-service offerings
• Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process sales accurately and efficiently
• Handle cash transactions with precision, including cash handling and basic math calculations for change or totals
• Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the counter area, food prep stations, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards
• Restock supplies, manage inventory levels, and ensure all food handling procedures meet sanitation regulations

Requirements

• Previous experience in food preparation or food service roles within quick service or fast-food restaurants is preferred
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively with diverse guests
• Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures
• Ability to manage time effectively during busy periods while maintaining accuracy in transactions and order fulfillment
• Experience working in a café, retail grocery store, or restaurant environment is a plus
• Basic math skills for cash handling and sales calculations are essential
• Kitchen experience or culinary background is beneficial but not required; willingness to learn is key
