What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Arbor Technician position at Forest Park Forever Inc?
Forest Park Forever is seeking a Seasonal Arbor Technician to perform arboricultural maintenance to ensure trees in the park have the necessary ingredients for growth and longevity. This full-time position reports to work Monday through Friday 7:00am – 3:30 pm from March through November. We are looking for individuals that are reliable, self-motivated, and detail oriented. A successful candidate should be passionate about effectively caring for trees in Forest Park. This position provides the employee a rewarding experience of completing the critical care necessary for the park, as well as experience in a variety of landscapes.
Job Purpose: Perform a wide range of arboricultural maintenance duties including planting, pruning, watering, mulching, weeding, and IPM pest management in Forest Park, within areas maintained by Forest Park Forever.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform tree planting, pruning, monitoring and maintenance
- Operate light equipment, automotive equipment, utility vehicles, power tools and hand tools
- Provide support for Forest Park Forever special events
- Help supervise volunteer groups to accomplish maintenance goals, as requested
