JOB SUMMARY:
Support The GO Year of Discipleship in a position that combines day-to-day leadership of program events and activities with intentional, Christ-centered mentorship of GO Year students.
The Media Coordinator will focus on supporting the GO Year in all media-related capacities and outlets. This includes the creation of social media content, capturing photos and videos to be used in a variety of projects for both internal and external uses, and assisting the Director of The GO Year in the implementation, production, and distribution of all podcast-style interviews as well capturing GO Year speaker-related content.
The Media Coordinator will also assist in collectively guiding and discipling a cohort of 40 students throughout the full 12-month experience, fostering spiritual growth, community engagement, and personal development among students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with the Sr. Director of Marketing to implement an overall social media strategy for The GO Year of discipleship, focused on both engagement of current students and families as well as providing a platform through with The GO Year can recruiting future students
- Regularly capture high-quality photos and videos of various aspects of The GO Year of Discipleship to be used in a wide variety of outlets, including:
- Regular recap videos of off-site excursions
- Monthly recap videos of Focus Modules as well as other program elements to be used for external marketing purposes (social media, etc.)
- Still shots of various program elements to be used for marketing pictures, student albums, etc.
- Assist the GO Year Director in the implementation and execution of pod-cast style interviews with all Focus Module speakers, including both the recording, publishing, and distribution of all recorded content.
- Assist the GO Year Director and the Sr. Director of Marketing with the creation of marketing materials for both print and digital distribution.
- Coordinate with department leaders and staff across Forest Home to facilitate logistics or shared resources
- Provide consistent, day-to-day mentorship and discipleship to GO Year students
- Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings with each assigned student (approximately 10 students of the same gender)
- Lead weekly small group devotionals utilizing pre-determined discipleship curriculum
- Monitor and support the spiritual, emotional, and mental well-being of assigned students
- Submit weekly reports to the GO Year Director regarding the spiritual, mental, and physical health of each student under their care
- Maintain a personal rhythm of daily Bible study, remaining aligned with the GO Year students’ reading plan and spiritual disciplines
- Actively engage in recruiting efforts as lead by the GO Year Director and Admissions Coordinator
- All other duties as assigned
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- At least 18 years old
- Previous experience leading and/or mentoring college-aged individuals (ages 18-22)
- Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with individuals across a wide range of temperaments and personalities
- Demonstrated ability to work within a highly collaborative environment, including shared leadership dynamics; at times leading and at times following
- Has experienced living in, or has exposure to, a college dorm-style environment, with the ability to speak into shared living dynamics, conflict resolution, and interpersonal situations
- Must have an advanced working knowledge of Adobe products and/or DaVinci
- Must demonstrate advanced experience, along with sample portfolio, of both photography and videography, as well as the ability to produce and deliver requested content within a specific timeframe and deadline
- Must obtain Food Handlers Card from San Bernardino County (Forest Home will provide training and cover fees)

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position provides spiritual leadership, mentorship, and oversight to students participating in The GO Year of Discipleship. The role carries primary leadership responsibility within assigned areas of focus, while also engaging in shared leadership alongside other Resident Advisors to foster a unified, Christ-centered community and program experience.
