What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Kids Associate (Fort Mill) position at Forest Hill Church?
General Summary:
This part-time position will be responsible for overseeing campus-specific kids ministry environments. This role will ensure effective ministry execution in the Fort Mill Kids Ministry area through leadership, collaboration, and championing ministry initiatives. Performance of duties and provision of leadership is required to establish and meet organizational mission, vision, values and strategy.
Position Specific Duties:
- Prioritize prayer: personally, for the Church, leadership, ministry, team, volunteers, kids and students, families, and the community.
- Provide leadership, direction, and clarity specifically regarding the 5 Marks of a Disciple and the mission, vision, and values of Forest Hill Church.
- Prioritize a balance of hours for relational work with people involved in the NextGen ministry and the organization and administrative requirements each week.
- Regular collaborative meetings with the Kids Director to identify, explore, and execute ministry tactics.
- Adhere to the Child Protection Policy personally as well as developmentally for volunteers.
- Utilize Forest Hill Churchs strategies and tactics as they are created collaboratively across all five campuses.
- Fulfill and help design ministry-operations in collaboration with Kids and Youth Directors
- Develop and supervise ministry coaches and volunteers by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and tools to perform their roles faithfully as they take their next step in their relationship with Christ.
- Attend Campus-specific weekly meetings and discussions
- Attend NextGen-specific meetings with all campus staff
- Attend summer camps (including overnight camp)
- Uphold staff values personally and collaboratively
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma
- Experience: At least 1 year of ministry experience or equivalent experience (I.e. professional teaching, camp counselor work, YMCA, etc.)
- Skills: Large-group management, relational and emotional intelligence, collaborative posture, inter-personal communication, administrative savvy, competency in modern technology, email construction, volunteer development, and environment organization (large and small groups).
- Capacity for: collaboration, discernment, motivation, development, leadership, and service.
- Personal Qualities: Compassionate, empathetic, and respectful. A strong commitment to the values and mission of Forest Hill Church. Capable of handling sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism. Demonstrate passion for serving the local church and engaging all generations through biblical principles and essentials. Personal faith development through personal Scripture reading and prayer. A desire to work with children and youth.
Performance Measures:
Employee performance will be formally evaluated on an annual basis by the Kids Ministry Director to review accomplishments, set goals and identify areas of improvement. In addition to the yearly review, performance evaluations may also be conducted as needed to address specific issues, provide feedback, provide developmental opportunities, and/or recognize exceptional performance.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role will oversee and develop volunteers regularly.
