The Culture & People Specialist provides administrative and operational support to the Culture & People department across a variety of functions throughout the employee lifecycle. This position serves as a resource to employees and management while supporting the effective delivery of Culture & People programs, services, and initiatives.

The Specialist maintains a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, accuracy, and customer service while contributing to a positive workplace culture and employee experience. This position works collaboratively with the Culture & People team and departments throughout Forest Highlands to support organizational goals and operational needs.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative and operational support for the day-to-day functions of the Culture & People department.
  • Assists with recruitment, hiring, onboarding, orientation, employee changes, and separation processes.
  • Maintains accurate and confidential employee records, personnel files, documentation, and Culture & People information systems.
  • Serves as a resource to employees and managers regarding policies, procedures, benefits, programs, and available resources.
  • Supports employee benefits, payroll-related processes, leave administration, performance management, and other employee programs.
  • Assists with employee relations matters and maintains appropriate documentation as directed by Culture & People leadership.
  • Supports employee training, development, engagement, recognition, retention, and workplace culture initiatives.
  • Prepares and distributes employee communications, announcements, departmental materials, and Culture & People resources.
  • Supports compliance with applicable employment laws, regulations, organizational policies, and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Assists with maintaining policies, procedures, forms, job descriptions, employee resources, reports, and departmental records.
  • Coordinates and supports orientations, training sessions, meetings, employee events, recognition programs, and other departmental activities.
  • Supports the annual H-2B employee lifecycle, including:
  • Onboarding: Travel coordination, arrival, employee housing, and orientation.
  • Employment: Employee support, training, engagement, recognition, and coordination throughout the seasonal employment period.
  • Offboarding: Departure coordination, travel, employee appreciation, and employee housing turnover.
  • Communicates professionally with employees, managers, applicants, vendors, and internal and external business partners.
  • Assists with special projects and initiatives designed to improve departmental processes and the overall employee experience.
  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises appropriate discretion when handling sensitive employee and organizational information.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the Culture & People department and Forest Highlands.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Culture & People information systems; Paycom or comparable HRIS experience preferred.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills preferred but not required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Highly professional demeanor with skills in face-to-face and telephone etiquette.
  • Must be self-motivated and organized to ensure the completion of all assignments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Proven ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously and apply relevant interdepartmental information
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and related Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficient with Paycom or the ability to quickly learn payroll management.
  • Flexibility in working schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays-as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • Two years of experience in Human Resources, payroll, benefits, recruiting, administration, hospitality, or another relevant professional environment preferred.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Hospitality, private club, resort, HOA, or other service-oriented experience is a plus.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, management, vendors/suppliers, the general public and other employees of the Company.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish Preferred.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Physical & Work Requirements:

  • This position primarily operates in a professional office environment utilizing computers, phones, and standard office equipment. Regular interaction with employees and occasional movement between departments, facilities, employee housing, meetings, orientations, and employee events may be required.

Compensation for this position will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications

Salary : $44,762 - $61,081
