• First Staff Work Day: June 21, 2024 (7 hour Staff Development)
• Dates of Summer School: June 24, 2024 - July 18, 2024 (Monday-Thursday)
• Final Staff Work Day: July 19, 2024 (4 hours)
• Daily Schedule: 8:15 am - 3:15 pm

Summer Skills Academy Instructional Assistant Student Supervision PK-8(Temporary

Job Description/Responsibilities:

1. Supervise students throughout the campus as designated;
2. Respond to calls for assistance from teachers, staff and administration;
3. Supervise classrooms as needed;
4. Run communication from administration as necessary;
5. Supervise during Breaks, Lunch, before and after school as necessary;
6. Supervise buses before and after school;
7. Communicate with teachers, administrators and others as necessary;
8. Respond to emergency situations;
9. Break up verbal and physical confrontations as necessary;
10. Use effective verbal communication to de-escalate student behaviors;
11. Observe and report abnormal or suspicious circumstances to supervisors;
12. Mandatory Reporter of student abuse;
13. Assist with administrative investigations as necessary;
14. Report vandalism, safety concerns and graffiti to supervisors;
15. Uphold and enforce all student policies and procedures;
16. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Ability to work independently
2. Good communication skills with students, staff and parents
3. Able to circulate throughout school building and on school grounds
4. Bilingual (English/Spanish)
5. Have and maintain a valid first aid card
6. Ability to use radio and e-mail
