Duties

  • Operate a variety of farm machinery including tractors, harvesters, trucks, irrigation systems, and heavy equipment to support planting, harvesting, and maintenance activities
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections, perform basic repairs, welding, and preventative maintenance to ensure machinery functions optimally
  • Transport agricultural commodities from field to farm using trucks.
  • Maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper water distribution for crops and pasturelands
  • Use hand tools and power tools for fencing, equipment repairs, and general farm upkeep
  • Oversee growing processes from planting, cultivating, irrigation, and monitoring crop health
  • Assist with other farm workers to ensure safety standards are maintained at all times.

Skills

  • Experience in agriculture or equipment operation
  • Ability to operate semi-trucks is a plus (no CDL necessary)
  • Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and repair farm machinery and equipment
  • Certification or experience operating forklifts and heavy equipment safely
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements, quantities, and calibrations.
  • Skilled in welding, equipment repair, maintenance tasks using hand tools and power tools
  • Physical stamina for heavy lifting and outdoor work in various weather conditions
  • Familiarity with agriculture safety standards
  • Ability to work long hours/weekends during harvest and planting seasons
