Duties
- Operate a variety of farm machinery including tractors, harvesters, trucks, irrigation systems, and heavy equipment to support planting, harvesting, and maintenance activities
- Conduct routine equipment inspections, perform basic repairs, welding, and preventative maintenance to ensure machinery functions optimally
- Transport agricultural commodities from field to farm using trucks.
- Maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper water distribution for crops and pasturelands
- Use hand tools and power tools for fencing, equipment repairs, and general farm upkeep
- Oversee growing processes from planting, cultivating, irrigation, and monitoring crop health
- Assist with other farm workers to ensure safety standards are maintained at all times.
Skills
- Experience in agriculture or equipment operation
- Ability to operate semi-trucks is a plus (no CDL necessary)
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and repair farm machinery and equipment
- Certification or experience operating forklifts and heavy equipment safely
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements, quantities, and calibrations.
- Skilled in welding, equipment repair, maintenance tasks using hand tools and power tools
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and outdoor work in various weather conditions
- Familiarity with agriculture safety standards
- Ability to work long hours/weekends during harvest and planting seasons
