What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Aide-Casual position at Forest County Potawatomi Community?
Here’s What You’ll Be Doing
- Ensures the health, safety and well-being of participants by providing close supervision of assigned activities.
- Will be instrumental in the planning and daily operations of the 10 week Summer Day Camp as a Summer day Camp Councilor.
- Works with a wide range of age groups to assist in, managing daily recreational activities including but not limited to arts, crafts, fabrication lab, aquatics, sports and fitness.
- Serves as a positive role model to the participants, motivating and educating individuals to meet their goals.
- Responds to emergency situations, following established emergency protocols.
- Supporting the implementation of sports, games, special events, field trips, and group activities.
- Assists in all tribal holiday parties from set up to tear down.
- Helping to distribute posters and other materials to promote upcoming programs and special events.
- Adhering to and enforcing FCPC policies, procedures, and recreation guidelines.
- Aiding in the upkeep and organization of FCPC facilities and equipment.
- May occasionally chaperone and transport youth for overnight events
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification or be willing to obtain within 1 month of hire
- Lifeguard certification preferred or willing to obtain within 3 months of hire
- Must have a valid, clean driver’s license and be at least 18 years of age and insurable by the tribe.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends as activities/special programming dictate
- Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens
