What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Clerk position at Forest County Potawatomi Community?
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Prepare and perform check runs.
- Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records.
- Perform reconciliations on various accounts payable transactions.
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
- Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries.
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
- Pay vendors by monitoring discount opportunities.
- Maintain historical records by utilizing electronic file cabinets.
- Provide supporting documentation for audits.
- Maintain confidentiality of organizational information.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Associate’s degree in accounting -OR- 3 years of accounts payable experience.
- Experience in computerized accounting systems.
- Knowledge of general accounting procedures.
- Proficient in data entry and management.
- Must have good organizational skills with the ability to handle several projects at one time by prioritizing completing projects within deadlines.
- No misdemeanor or felony conviction involving theft, fraud, or embezzlement.
- Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens
Preferred qualifications:
- 5 plus years’ experience in accounts payable
- 2 years’ experience in Government Accounting
