Duties
- Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to maintain optimal oral health.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to ensure safe and effective treatment.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to empower their health journey.
- Assist with chairside procedures such as taking digital X-rays, medical imaging, and applying sealants or fluoride treatments.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office protocols.
- Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed through aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures.
Skills
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
