Job Summary
Summary of Position: Under the direction of the Director of Student Services and the school administrator, this position provides speech and language assessments and therapy to students who have a variety of communicative disorders. KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: The Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) demonstrates knowledge of speech, language, communication, and related disorders that impact students’ educational performance, as well as principles and practices of assessment, intervention, and progress monitoring in school-based settings. The SLP applies evidence-based strategies to evaluate and treat articulation, language, fluency, voice, social communication, and pragmatic skills, including the use of augmentative and alternative communication systems as appropriate. This role requires strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams; and the capacity to work independently while managing caseload responsibilities.
