?? Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Special Education Teacher to serve students in grades 9–12. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of the IEP (Individualized Education Program) process, effective progress monitoring strategies, and caseload management practices. This role requires collaboration with general education staff, families, and support personnel to ensure student success.
?? Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Conduct assessments and use data to inform instruction and progress monitoring
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and services
- Manage a diverse caseload of students with varying needs and disabilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices
- Communicate regularly with families and stakeholders regarding student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives
? Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement
- Demonstrated knowledge of IDEA and Michigan Special Education law
- Experience with IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff
- Familiarity with progress monitoring tools and data-driven instruction
