Forest Acres Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate and hardworking Kennel Technician to join our team of dedicated pet care professionals. This is a part-time position with the possibility of full-time hours based upon needs of the hospital. Pay is based on experience as well as performance. We are now approaching our busiest season, and hope to add a qualified and hard working new member to our fantastic team!
Our boarding facility is located within our veterinary hospital, so candidates must be comfortable working in a medical setting. While the majority of our boarding guests are cats and dogs, we also occasionally care for exotic pets, such as birds and reptiles.
The ideal candidate will have previous animal care experience, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn and grow with our team.
Job Summary
The Kennel Technician will be responsible for the daily care and well-being of animals at the facility. This role involves providing essential support in maintaining a clean and safe environment for the animals under their care.
Duties
- Feed, water, and monitor the health of animals
- Clean kennels, cages, and animal living areas
- Assist with exercise and playtime for animals
- Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff
- Maintain accurate records of animal intake, behavior, and health status
- Interact with pet owners to provide updates on their pets' well-being
Requirements
- Experience working in a kennel or animal care setting is preferred
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks related to animal care (10-30lbs on a typical day, sometimes more)
- Strong customer service skills when interacting with pet owners
- Knowledge of basic animal handling and restraint techniques
- Familiarity with pet care, dog training, and veterinary practices

Pay: $10.00 - $14.00 per hour
