JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic entry-level Civil Engineer in Training to join our dynamic team. This role is designed for recent graduates who are eager to apply their academic knowledge in real-world projects. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of experienced engineers and project managers to assist in the planning, design, and implementation of various civil engineering projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with land development projects by performing civil design calculations and transforming concept designs into construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Research and write reports, including due diligence investigations and code studies.
- Use engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Conduct studies to identify engineering problems and assess project impacts.
- Inspect project sites with Project Manager to monitor progress and ensure conformance to specifications and safety standards.
- Coordinate project tasks and schedules with Project Manager.
- Research design options and document findings for Project Manager.
- Assist with permitting of engineering projects.
- Review engineering documents for completeness and accuracy.
- Review drawings from vendors, clients, engineers, and architects and recommend changes.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Experience: 0–1 year experience in civil engineering or related field (including internships/co-ops).
Licensure: EIT (Engineer in Training) certification or ability to obtain it within the first year of employment.
Skills:
- Basic knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and methods.
- Basic proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
- Ability to manage time and materials effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
