What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Systems Engineer position at Foresite Cybersecurity?
Foresite is looking for a Junior Systems Engineer to join our Managed Services team and act as the "First Responder" for our clients' modern workspaces. You’ll work closely with our senior engineering team to ensure thousands of devices remain secure, updated, and optimized. This role is designed for a tech-savvy problem solver ready to bridge the gap between traditional support and advanced Cloud Operations and Cybersecurity.
What You'll Do:
In this role, you’ll take ownership of Chrome Enterprise environments, automated patch management, and endpoint health monitoring. You will be responsible for maintaining a high-quality user experience across dozens of unique client networks while ensuring all systems follow strict security baselines and organizational policies.
Chrome & Google Admin Support
At Foresite, we aren’t just another security provider—we are a mission-driven partner helping organizations navigate an increasingly complex threat landscape. Founded by passionate security practitioners, we’ve grown into a global leader in SecOps and MDR by staying true to our core value: radical transparency.
When you join Foresite, you are part of a "humans-first" culture where your expertise is valued, and your well-being is a priority. We leverage our Google Cloud Premier SecOps Partnership to stay at the cutting edge, but we know that our greatest asset is our people.

Chrome & Google Admin Support
- Policy Implementation: Assist in setting up browser settings (bookmarks, homepages, security flags) via the Google Admin Console to ensure a standardized user experience.
- Extension Governance: Review and vet browser extension requests, checking for permissions and security risks before deployment.
- Policy Hierarchy: Design and maintain Organizational Unit (OU) structures to ensure different departments (e.g., Finance vs. Engineering) have appropriate restrictions.
- Security Baseline: Configure initial hardening standards, such as forced password alerts, sandboxing, and site isolation.
- Daily Health Checks: Monitor RMM (Remote Monitoring and Management) dashboards to identify machines that are "out of compliance" or missing critical updates.
- Patch Deployment: Review and deploy weekly updates for Windows, macOS, and common third-party apps (Zoom, Slack, Adobe) under the guidance of senior staff.
- Verification & Remediation: Confirm patch success and manually intervene on "failed" updates to ensure 100% fleet compliance.
- Documentation: Maintain the client knowledge base with the latest versioning info and known issues related to monthly patch cycles.
- Own the Queue: Manage incoming tickets for endpoint-related issues, providing timely updates to clients and escalating complex bugs to Tier 2/3 engineers.
- Data-Driven Insights: Pull weekly fleet health reports to demonstrate security posture and protection levels to our clients.
- Continuous Learning: Participate in weekly 1-on-1s with senior mentors to review technical execution and learn advanced automation workflows.
- Experience: 1 years of experience in IT Support, Helpdesk, or a technical internship.
- Detail-Oriented: You understand that one wrong checkbox in a policy console can affect thousands of users; you double-check your work.
- Curious Learner: You don’t just want to follow a checklist; you want to understand the why behind cloud-first technology.
- Service-Minded: Strong "customer-first" mindset with the ability to explain technical steps clearly to non-technical users.
- Technical Foundations: Basic familiarity with Google Admin Console or Microsoft 365, and comfort navigating Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS settings.
- Networking Basics: Understanding of fundamental concepts (IP, DNS) to assist in connectivity troubleshooting.
- Education: A degree in IT, a bootcamp certification, or a CompTIA A /Network certification.
- Platform Knowledge: Previous exposure to RMM tools or endpoint management platforms.
- Growth Mindset: A desire to pursue the Google Professional ChromeOS Administrator exam (which we will sponsor within your first 6 months!).
