Values
Vulnerability
We believe great ideas can come from anywhere and anyone, regardless of title, position, industry experience, expertise, or seniority at the company. We value candor, feedback, questioning, and tough love from all teammates. Our pursuit is an environment where each individual feels safe enough to be vulnerable and valued enough to be heard.
We believe it is a courageous act to speak up, ask questions, step out, and take risks, big or small. We believe it is equally courageous to receive criticism with an open mind and heart, ultimately trusting our teammates to want the best for us. We commit to the pursuit of “getting it right” as opposed to “being right.”
Critical Thinking
We believe in the value of intellectual discipline and follow the “plan, do, check, act” methodology. We must first be curious and ask questions so that we have as much information as possible at our disposal. The rigor involved in critical thinking will force our teammates to seek knowledge from multiple sources, resulting in better decisions and higher-quality work.
Enthusiasm
We believe people and organizations care about energy and the environment, yet these organizations oft en have higher priorities that diminish their ability to execute. This gap between “desire” and “action” is fundamental to our existence. Insights, capacity, guidance, and expertise are qualities our team brings to organizations, but those valuable attributes are not enough to inspire action. Enthusiasm is contagious and the special ingredient we bring to our clients to create momentum and inspire action.
Ownership
We take responsibility for our actions and inactions as individuals and collectively. We must proactively ask the question, “How am I complicit in creating the conditions I find myself in?” We then choose to do the difficult, yet vital work of self-reflection to better understand results and move forward from a place of integrity and authenticity.
Competitive Greatness
To fulfill our purpose and mission, we believe we must compete individually and as a team. John Wooden in his Pyramid of Success lists Competitive Greatness at the top of the pyramid and says, “Competitive Greatness is having a real love for the hard battle knowing it offers the opportunity to be at your best when your best is required.”
Competitive Greatness is a posture and attitude we all strive to embody every day. Competing is having a real love for the hard battles and being your best. Jim Collins in “Good to Great” says, “Good is the enemy of great." We believe we must compete against “good enough” to fulfill our individual and collective potential.
